Montage Monday: Hairpieces and Hardware

In the village of Pundamilia in Kenya, where I have spent a total of ten weeks over two trips, the place to go if you need anything is the hardware store. In the village center there are a couple of cafes (called hotels), a barber shop, some bars, and this oh so fabulous hardware shop. On my last trip, another volunteer and I went to the hardware shop looking for chicken wire for a project back at the orphanage. As we were waiting for a price quote, I happened to notice some Beyonce hair extensions for sale. I knew the hardware store had tools, grains, and some odds and ends, but the fact that I could buy Beyonce hair extensions… amazing! You never know what you’ll stumble upon in the Pundamilia hardware store.
