The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse

I love brunch. The sad thing is, I rarely go out for brunch, but I just like the idea of it. Brunch is the perfect way to start a lazy Sunday. Though we actually had big plans for the day, my dad and I decided to have brunch in Boulder on our way to Estes Park. Luckily, my friend Andrew made a couple of suggestions, and I was instantly sold on this teahouse in Boulder. The Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse was a gift from the mayor of Dushanbe, Tajikistan in 1987 to celebrate becoming a sister city to Boulder. It took more than 40 artisans three years to create its hand-carved and hand-painted ceiling, tables, stools, columns, and exterior ceramic panels. No two columns are alike, and everything is so intricate. In the center of the teahouse is the Fountain of the Seven Beauties, which we had the pleasure of sitting beside. With its tall ceilings and sunny interior, I highly recommend a visit to this teahouse if you ever make it to Boulder.

Boulder Breakfast Tea. Mmmm, good.

As a fan of black tea, I recommend the Boulder Breakfast tea (I know with so many tea options that seems rather boring, but I’m a creature of habit). If I ever make it back to Boulder, I’m definitely making a stop at this teahouse again.
